The use of oligonucleotides (CpG-ODN) as TLR9 agonists is an exciting new approach for the management of cancer patients.

This new class of drugs was discovered in the late 1990s, and has shown promising activity in various animal models and in clinical trials conducted by Oligovax and by other companies.

Oligovax has designed its own TLR9 agonist with an optimized sequence which is specifically protected by intellectual property, and is executing a strategy for fast track clinical development with the aim of entering the market in 2011.
